I was in my local boozer over the weekend and noticed a poster for an SMS text competition that Guinness are running, offering a chance to win a weekend in Dublin. Apparently Guinness are looking for the pub that serves the best pint of their brew. Each participating pub is given a unique refenerence number that you text in.

From memory, each vote costs 25p each. I'd love to give you more details but guinness.com is borked for me. Drop by to guiness.com and check it out for your (if you can get past the landing page)

Leszek Wojcik, a bus driver in the northwestern Polish city of Slupsk, has been fired for sending 38,000 sms text messages on his company mobile phone, in an attempt to win an SMS text competition. The prize, had he won, which he didn't, would have been 100,000-zloty (Approx £18,000). The mobile phone bill for his company? 94,000 zlotys (approx £16,000). Ouch!

Yep a house! This competition to win a 4 bedroomed detached house in Norfolk, U.K. is organised by Elite Property and ends 18 the December 07. Entries cost £25.00 each and can be made by post in addition to SMS text.

There are a couple of conditions worth noting. In order for the house to be drawn as the prize, a minimum of 25000 entries of £25 each must be met.  If the minimum amount of entries is not met then the prize for the winner of the tie-break question will be the amount of money raised by the competition (minus set-up and legal costs).

The SMS text competition is open to UK residents aged 18 years and over.
